DMCA & Copyright Notice
How StreamQ responds to copyright complaints, processes takedown requests, and handles counter-notifications.
Our position on copyright
StreamQ takes intellectual-property rights seriously and supports the principles set out in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) as well as applicable Canadian copyright law. When we receive a complete and good-faith complaint about allegedly infringing material, we look into it and respond without unnecessary delay.
StreamQ does not host, record, or control the media delivered through third-party providers. Our role is limited to acting on valid notices that are brought to our attention. If you are a rights holder (or are authorised to act for one) and believe material reachable through our service infringes your copyright, please tell us using the steps below so we can investigate.
How to send a takedown notice
To help us act quickly, a valid notice should give us enough detail to identify both you and the material in question. Please include all of the following:
1 · Who you are
- Your full legal name (and the company or rights holder you represent, if any)
- An email address we can reply to
- A phone number and mailing address where you can be reached
2 · What work is affected
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed
- Enough information for us to recognise the work (for example a title, registration, or sample)
3 · Where the material is
- The specific location of the material you are reporting — a URL, page, channel name, or other identifier precise enough for us to find it
4 · The required statements
- A statement that you believe, in good faith, the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, an agent, or the law
- A statement that the information you have given is accurate
- An acknowledgement that you are the rights holder or are permitted to act on their behalf, made under penalty of perjury where that applies
- Your physical or electronic signature
How we review your notice
Once your notice reaches us, we handle it in three stages:
You report it
Send your complaint with every detail listed above so we have what we need to act.
We review it
Our team checks the notice for completeness and confirms the claim is valid before taking any step.
We respond
Where a complaint checks out, we take the appropriate action in line with applicable copyright law.
Our commitment: we aim to acknowledge every properly submitted notice within two business days and to act on valid complaints promptly thereafter.
Penalties for false claims
Copyright notices carry legal weight. Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing can be held liable for the resulting costs and damages, and similar consequences may follow under Canadian law.
Submitting a counter-notice
If your material was removed or disabled and you believe that happened in error, you may submit a counter-notification using the form below. A counter-notice should contain:
- Your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it previously appeared
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you genuinely believe the material was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification
- Your agreement to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada
- Your physical or electronic signature
Submit your notice
Use the form below to send a copyright complaint or a counter-notice. We aim to acknowledge every properly submitted notice within two business days, and we may reach out if any part of your submission is incomplete.
